Spot prices of polypropylene (PP) in Europe fell last week, ICIS reports citing sources in the market.
At the same time, manufacturers do not express concern about the growth of naphtha prices. The prices fell on some types of PPs, subject to large volumes of purchases, but overall the overall price trend for PP prices remains stable.
According to some sellers, demand was disappointing, as medium-sized buyers purchased minimal quantities of material. Although the expectations of the decline in propylene prices in November are unlikely to be justified because of the growth in quotations of naphtha.
According to sources, sales from traders and distributors were very low, as buyers purchased only from their regular suppliers, which can give additional discounts at the end of the year.
November PP contract prices in Europe increased by EUR30 per tonne.
According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, in Russia the demand for polypropylene in the local market continues to decline gradually, and this factor has an impact on prices. As a result of the week, there was a decline in prices for PP-homo and propylene copolymers
