Spot prices of butene-grade linear polyethylene (LDPE) brands increased in the European market to EUR1,200 per tonne, FD NWE (with delivery to North-West Europe), ICIS sources told the market.

According to sources, the supply is limited in the market, as the volume of imported supplies is declining.

Currently, prices in other regions of the world are more attractive than in Europe, and the European market largely depends on the import of LDL C4 volumes.

In the Asian region last week there was some nervousness in the market due to the decline in LDL futures on the Chinese stock exchange in Dalian, but at the moment Asia still remains the best option for supply to potential sellers.

Some problems in manufacturing in the Middle East also led to a reduction in the supply of material, sources said.
