The French firm “Ezhis” proposes to build a waste recycling plant for Lviv in the territory of CHPP-2, said Christopher Round, the head of the project on developing a strategy for waste management for Lviv.
“We examined three sites and came to the conclusion that the best option would be a site on the territory of CHPP-2,” K.Round said at a press conference on Wednesday, explaining that the location and the developed infrastructure played in favor of this site.
According to him, in August this year the company plans to start designing the enterprise. During this time, the study of waste morphology from Lviv will also be conducted to determine the optimal technology for waste processing. It is expected that the implementation of the project will begin in 2018.
At the same time, Deputy Mayor of Lviv Sergey Babak added that the final decision on the technology will be taken after studying the morphology of the waste and the estimated cost of the plant.
As for the reclamation of the former city of Lviv, its French experts plan to start this year.
