Ministry of Environment has created an interactive map, numbering 30 thousand landfills, with no area did not give a full picture of their location.
In Ukraine, there are about 30 thousand landfills. This was announced today at a meeting of the Cabinet Minister of Ecology Semerak Ostap transmits LІGA.net reports.

Semerak noted that the Ministry began an inventory of landfills in Ukraine. “We collect real information from all over Ukraine for the first time this information has geo-location binding.”, – He said. According to him, an interactive map of landfill sites has been created on the basis of these data.

“The country, unfortunately, turned into the trash on the map Here we only see the red dots.”, – He said.

Semerak added that the regional state administration reacted to the instructions of the government is not the best way: there is no area that would give a complete picture of the location of the landfill. “This reluctance of local authorities to recognize the scale of the problem and really start fighting with it”, – the minister said.

“The information that our government serves regional state administrations, said that there are approximately 30,000 landfills in Ukraine. This polygons and dumps … In fact, local governments do not have information about where the . landfill, what their morphology which driveways, filling, etc. We are now have information on the 2600 landfills, and we need political will of the Cabinet in order to once again stimulate the State Administration for proper operation in solving this problem, “- he stressed.

Ecology Minister noted that the electronic card dumps will be constantly updated, including on the basis of citizens’ communications.
