effe74ab34dd05bd11f97617c0bb0690_580_400_5_80Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade of Ukraine banned the import of Russian petrochemical products. This was reported in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, reports “MINOR”.

The import of suspension and emulsion polyvinylchloride and caustic soda, which is produced by the Nizhniy Novgorod association “RusVinyl” and the Volgograd “Kaustik”, is prohibited. The ban comes into force on April 4, 2017.

The Ukrainian edition of Neftekynok suggests that this decision may be related to the launch of the Karpatneftekhim association, which is the only Ukrainian producer of polyvinyl chloride and caustic soda, scheduled for April-May.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv said that Ukraine’s losses from trade restrictions by the Russian Federation for 2016 amounted to about $ 1 billion only for transit goods.
