Seasonal growth in demand and reduced supply of low-pressure polyethylene pipe (HDPE) led to an increase in prices. By mid-July, natural polyethylene went up by 1,000 – 2,000 rubles. per tonne, reported in the ICIS-MRC Price Review.

In the past few weeks, the demand for low-pressure polyethylene pipe has increased significantly under the pressure of seasonal factors, while the supply of polymer from individual vendors has decreased. There is no big excitement in this regard, but some sellers last week went on raising the price of the HDPE pipe. Natural polyethylene went up by 1,000–2,000 rubles. per ton, black PE100 went up more significantly.

The reduction in the supply of HDPE pipe in the Russian market is largely due to the stopping of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat for preventive maintenance, which started from the first days of July and will last for the entire month. The Bashkir enterprise is essentially a key supplier of natural HDPE pipe in the Russian market.

There is no rush in the polyethylene pipe market due to the idleness of one of the suppliers, but this factor has begun to put pressure on prices.

By mid-July, individual sellers of natural HDPE pipe prices rose to 103,000-105,000 rubles. per ton, including VAT, CPT Moscow.

Black PE100 went up more significantly, and such a rise in prices was largely due to the approaching stop for the repair of the main supplier, Kazanorgsintez. In early July, the Russian black PE100 was offered from 107,500 rubles. per ton, including VAT, CPT Moscow, and by the middle of the month the prices for individual sellers rose to 113,500 rubles. per ton, including VAT, CPT Moscow.
