Styrene supplies have improved in the European market in the last couple of weeks, which weakened the growth of prices in the spot market, but the forecast for October prices is still unclear, ICIS reports citing market participants.

According to market participants, last week US styrene volumes arrived, but in the next two weeks more supplies from the US are not expected.

In addition, the market in Asia is on holiday holidays from 1 to 8 October. According to the trader, after the Golden Week in Asia, the prices of styrene in Europe may change.

Until the end of 2017 planned repairs of styrene production in Europe is not expected, although in the first quarter of 2018, two manufacturers will stop their production.

Styrene is the raw material for the production of polystyrene (PS).
