Spot prices of injection molded low density polyethylene (HDPE) in Europe continue to decline, ICIS reported citing sources in the market.

In some cases, prices of injection-molded HDPE fell to EUR1,100 per tonne of FD NWE (north-western Europe), whereas in early May they exceeded EUR1,200 per tonne.

Demand for polyethylene in Europe weakened in the second half of May, as buyers expect the price level to decline in June again.

One of the sellers said that the excess supply of injection molding HDPE may be associated with the resumption of production of a number of plants after the planned stops.

According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, in Russia last week prices in the market of injection molded HDPE remained unchanged.
