In the world, the fight against plastic bags and plastic has been going on for more than ten years. Whereas Ukraine was actively talking about the scale of the garbage problem only 5 years ago. According to the latest official data, Ukraine annually accumulates about 12 million tons of waste, of which only 600 thousand are used for recycling.

Burial of garbage at landfills is the day before yesterday and the entire civilized world has long ago moved away from this method of waste management. But in Ukraine, 95% of garbage is buried in such landfills. Every major city has collection points for recyclable materials. But if glass and aluminum are still accepted there, then plastic is unlikely. But it is accepted at the Ukraine marshalling yard without garbage.

How do I collect garbage? With glass, everything is simple: separate the transparent from the colored. It is a little more difficult with plastic bottles, they need to be packaged according to colors and also remove the caps. With metal – separate cans from canned food. But with plastic it is necessary to be confused.

Toothbrushes, unlabeled plastic packaging, dirty plastic bags are all non-recyclable. This can only be burned, but disposal is paid.

There are dozens of ideas on how to dispose of garbage in Ukraine. A plant was built in the Vinnitsa region that produces paving slabs from trash. The composition is simple – 70% sand, 30% polyethylene.

In the Kharkiv region, at a paper mill, the first paper ecoscotch in Ukraine was created. Unlike film tape, it dissolves in six months. This is made from paper packaging.

The more such startups there are, the closer Ukraine is to Europe, and there, as you know, everyone sorts out garbage.

Mining waste
The new legislation on waste management will allow the use of waste from the mining industry in construction, the Environmental Patrol said in a public formation.

It is reported that according to the new draft law No. 2207-1d On Waste Management, which was adopted in the first reading, wastes from the extractive industry that were formed as a result of exploration, mining, processing and storage of minerals and the development of mineral deposits are no longer considered waste. This will allow them to be used in construction.
