utilizaciya_himii1The government approved the license conditions for companies engaged in the disposal of hazardous waste, which have been submitted to the Cabinet of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

This was announced by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Semerak.

“New licensing rules establish transparent conditions for doing business in the field of hazardous waste and allow the state to carry out more effective measures of state control over the activities of licensees in this sphere”, – he said, commenting on the decision of the Cabinet.

According to the Minister, the public and environmental market participants recycling and disposal of hazardous waste over a year waiting for this document.

“Hazardous waste management system has been de facto eliminated due to lack of licenses we got unsettled and non-competitive situation where pesticides, agricultural chemicals, pharmaceutical products, which expired shelf life, be disposed of as pleases and which pleases or in the case of medicines. – re-packed and sold in pharmacies. Ministry of Natural resources held a titanic work to develop and ordering two months of new license conditions that will allow the state to control a large shadow market of hazardous waste with a billion-treatment facilities and finally establish transparent conditions for business, making it impossible to corrupt machinations in this sphere “, – commented the Minister of ecology.

Semerak also noted that today’s decision of the Cabinet domestic enterprises have been waiting more than a year, are due to lack of license conditions and the license can not adequately carry out disposal of hazardous waste, such as pesticides and chemicals.

“Ministry of the Environment to date not been able to address these issues. The only company, which in 2014 received a license to dispose of obsolete pesticides and agrochemicals, is not fulfilling its obligations. Our ministry did not have even the possibility to verify the enterprise. The new licensing terms will prevent the occurrence of similar situations, and this will be the first step towards our common goal to reduce and minimize risks to the environment, human life and health “, – explained the Minister.
