Despite the crisis, the total consumption of five base polymers in Russia in 2015 practically has not decreased, according to MRC analysts.

The level of estimated consumption of polymers in the past year fell by only 38 thousand. Tons, or 0.8% of the total market. “This figure can be neglected, taking into account the volume of carry-overs in the market”, – said director of analytics Sergey Karaychentsev.

At the same time the polypropylene market grew just 10% in 2015. For the first time in the history of Russian PP consumption exceeded 1 million tons (up to 1.068 million tons).
