Gazprom nefthim Salavat (STS), one of Russia’s largest production complexes for oil refining and petrochemicals, has stopped the capacity to produce polyethylene (PE) for planned preventive maintenance, according to the Market Review of the MRC.

With the purpose of carrying out planned preventive works, the STS stopped production of high pressure polyethylene (LDPE) and low pressure polyethylene (HDPE) on Sunday, July 1. As the representative of the enterprise and clients said, the simple production of HDPE will be short-lived and within seven days it is planned to resume the operation of the facilities.

At the same time, the capacity for LDPE production was stopped for a longer period, the renewal of high-pressure polyethylene production is planned only after 30 days.

The annual capacity of LDPE and HDPE production at Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat is 45,000 tons and 120,000 tons, respectively.
