In Europe, such plants with a capacity of 0.2-1 MW / h are very common, recovered in just five to seven years. And the raw material for them is sorted garbage in landfills. Therefore, in Ukraine in the foreseeable future, entire cities can bask in their own waste and pay a penny for a communal.

About this in his article for ZN.UA writes Yuri Kosyuk, chairman of the board of the agroindustrial holding Mironovskiy Khleboprodukt, whose enterprises house biogas plants that process chicken manure and other wastes, turning them into electricity and fertilizers.

“If there is a solid waste landfill in the territory of specific joint territorial communities that will ensure a constant volume of raw materials, then, of course, such a huge group can solve the energy issue on its own.” According to our calculations, a biogas plant with a capacity of 5 MW will provide up to 18,000 apartments with electricity. this, in turn, will relieve the burden from the budgets of the united territorial communities, which will be evidence of a real, and not unfounded, process of decentralization, “the expert believes.

According to the author, the implementation of the Comprehensive Program of Energy Modernization of Ukraine will reduce tariffs for housing and communal services, improve the ecological situation in Ukraine, lead the country to energy independence, bring it closer to the advanced European countries, improve the quality of life of Ukrainian citizens, reduce the burden on state and local budgets, actively promote decentralization, and create new jobs.
