The new complex for the production of polymers Orpic in Oman will be built in 2018

Thus, the new project will increase the total production of PP and PE companies Orpic to 1.4 million tons per year.

It was noted earlier that Orpic expects the closing of the project financing of the construction of a new petrochemical complex in Livet at the end of the year, as in May, said Chief Executive Officer Orpic Musab al Mahruki (Musab al Mahrouqi). According to him, last year received Orpic USD2,7 billion from 20 financial institutions for the financing of their plans to expand capacity, without the support of the Government of Oman. In the current year the company plans to obtain from USD3,3 USD3,7 billion to finance projects in Liwa.

As previously reported the MRC, in May 2014 Orpic announced the start of construction of a complex for the production of polymers cost USD3,6 billion. It is planned that the new complex, which will include an ethylene cracker plant with capacity of 859 th. Tons per year, will be built in the northern industrial city of Oman – Sohar, near the refineries and petrochemical plants Orpic.

Orpic is one of the leading petrochemical company in Oman. Orpic PP supplies to the markets of the United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other countries in the Middle East. And only a small portion of its products the company supplies to the domestic market.
