The largest petrochemical plant in Ukraine, Karpatneftekhim (Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region) is planning to increase the volume of supply of products in the future, the corporate edition of the enterprise says.

According to Vladimir Shulindin, General Director of Karpatneftekhim, to date, the company’s products have gradually returned to their markets, and the company has almost empty warehouses.

“Judging by the current dynamics, the volume of sales of products in the future, despite serious competition, will grow.” We place special hopes here on the Ukrainian market, especially in the sale of slurry, polyethylene and other products of polyvinylchloride, and the market of the countries of the so-called near abroad or the CIS, as well as a number of countries in Eastern Europe.The market of Turkey is now promising, where a large number of polymer products are being processed into finished products, “he said.

V. Shulindin said that the main reason for the launch of the plant was support from the state, namely the introduction of changes to the budget of Ukraine for 2017. “The most important support was the excise duty on raw materials for the needs of our ethylene production.The main type of this raw material is straight-run gasoline, which can also be used in oil refineries for the production of motor oils.We use it for the production of ethylene, we produce polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride, “he added.

In addition, the government supported the proposal on the timely return of funds in the form of value-added tax (VAT), which positively affected the financial condition of the enterprise.

The head of Karpatneftekhim said that the company uses loans from Oschadbank and Ukrgasbank. And first of all for the purchase of raw materials and energy resources.

According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, in August, Karpatneftekhim went on a serious increase in PVC exports, the total figure exceeded 6.2 thousand tons against 300 tons in July. The main export destinations are Turkey, Poland and Romania. In August, Karpatneftekhim shipped about 7,600 tons of low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE) to foreign markets. The bulk of exports fell on Russia and Turkey.

In February 2017, Lukoil completed a deal to sell a 100% stake in LUKOIL Chemical B.V. (Netherlands), which belongs to Karpatneftekhim. Techinservice Limited bought from Lukoil up to 50% of the Karpatneftekhim. The amount of the entire transaction was USD25 million. The second indirect owner of over 50% in LLC “Karpatneftekhim” through the Cyprus Xedrian Holding Ltd was Lukoil manager in Ukraine Ilham Mammadov.

Karpatneftekhim (Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region) – is the largest producer of polymers in Ukraine. The company produces polyolefins (ethylene and propylene), polyethylene, chlorine, polyvinyl chloride and caustic soda. The enterprise’s capacities allow producing 300 thousand tons of ethylene, 100 thousand tons of HDPE, 180 thousand tons of caustic soda and 300 thousand tons of PVC per year.
