The largest petrochemical plant in Ukraine – Karpatneftekhim (Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region) – resumed the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) after stopping for preventive maintenance. Next in turn is the launch of low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE) capacities, according to the ICIS-MRC Price Review.
According to the company’s clients, planned preventive maintenance of HDPE and PVC capacities started on November 5th and was quite lengthy. By December 7, Karpatneftekhim resumed production of PVC, the start-up of the HDP production began on Monday, December 10th.
It was the first stop for prevention after more than a year of work of the enterprise.
Earlier it was reported, Karpatneftekhim June 9, 2017 resumed work after five years of inactivity.
Karpatneftekhim is one of the largest enterprises of the petrochemical complex of Ukraine. Currently, the company is capable of producing 300 thousand tons of polyvinyl chloride annually, 200 thousand tons of caustic soda, about 180 thousand tons of chlorine, as well as 250 thousand tons of ethylene and 100 thousand tons of polyethylene.
