Indonesia: Styrindo Mono Indonesia resumes the production of styrene

The resumption of production of styrene depends on the successful restart of the cracking installation of the parent company Chandra Asri capacity of 600 kt/year in Cilegon 17-18 June after preventive maintenance, which began on 3 June. The company has two lines for the production of styrene plant in Merak – 100 thousand tons/year and 250 kt/year respectively. The company was forced to declare force majeure on supplies of styrene due to stop its production. Styrindo Mono Indonesia is the only producer of styrene in the country. Chandra Asri is one of the largest petrochemical producers in Indonesia. Major holders Chandra Asri – Thai Siam Cement Group (30%) and Indonesian PT Barito Pacific and (64,87%).
