ПЕ2Б (4)Players European polyethylene market (PE) are closely monitoring the situation on the market prices of raw materials – ethylene, as it will allow them to understand what will be the price trend of PE in November, according to ICIS.

Last week, ethylene quotes increased by EUR46 compared to the established contract ethylene prices in October.

Contract as ethylene prices for October delivery were agreed at EUR15 higher compared with the previous month, however, PE prices were largely rolled over, which resulted in a decrease in margins of manufacturers.

It is expected that the November contract ethylene prices will be agreed before the end of this month.

According to the price review ICIS-MRC, the Russian market for polyethylene demand in October by local companies declined. Partially reduced demand due to the reduction in demand for finished products partially weekly decline in prices has caused demand reduction. At the end of last week, continued low density polyethylene price decline (HDPE), while prices of other types of PE remain unchanged. At the same time at the end of last week, the market is actively rumors about a possible increase in the price of high-density polyethylene (LDPE) in the current week.
