The September contract price of propylene in Europe was agreed at EUR 20 per tonne higher than the price in August. As a result, European producers announced to increase the export price of polypropylene (PP) in the current month for the markets of the CIS countries EUR20-40 per ton, according to a price review ICIS-MRC.
Negotiations on September level of prices for European PP started at the end of last week. Many market participants have concluded that all European producers announced to raise export prices for polypropylene deliveries in September. The rise in prices in relation to prices in August was EUR20-40 per tonne depending on the type and manufacturer of polypropylene.
This week the transaction concerning the September deliveries of propylene homopolymer (PP-homo) are discussed in a fairly large range EUR950-1 060 per tonne, FCA, while the previous month deals were in the range EUR910-1 040 per tonne, FCA. And if in the past month, some producers have been restrictions on the shipment of PP-homo, in particular, raffia grades, about the restrictions in supply are not reported in the current month.
Transactions regarding the supply of block copolymers of propylene (PP-block) are discussed in the range of EUR1 080-1 150 per tonne, FCA, that an average of EUR20 per tonne higher. Negotiations for September shipments stat-propylene copolymer (PP-random) are conducted within EUR1 115-1 180 per tonne, FCA.
