At the same time, the issue of the garbage processing plant is still open. Money for this project will be allocated from the city budget, although it was previously planned to fulfill it for investors’ funds.

Prior to this, the issue of the construction of a complex for degassing was considered to be an investment.

In Odessa, a plant for degassing garbage in the dumps of Dalnitsky quarries will be built. With all this, $ 25 million of money is needed to implement the project.

So, Io. Director of the Department of Financial Development of the Odessa City Council Irina Shvydkaya in her report on raising funds for the implementation of urban projects noted: “Under the project for the construction of a waste processing plant and a complex for degassing a landfill site.”

The mechanism of the degassing system consists in pumping combustible gases from the wells at the landfill, which are formed as a result of the fermentation of debris. When the enterprise is built, gas from the dump quarries will be pumped out and processed into electricity. In the opposite case, there is a danger for people to suffocate, toxic influence, an unpleasant smell, a greenhouse effect increase, the threat of fires and explosions increases.
