The spot prices of low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE) in Europe remain in a wide range, the difference in price reached EUR100 and higher, reaching EUR1-100-1,200 per tonne, ICIS reports citing market participants.

So, the prices of imported blown HDPE remained at a level sometimes lower than EUR1,100 per tonne, FD, whereas at the upper end of the price range quotes reached EUR1,200 per tonne and higher.

According to market participants, a high level of prices was characteristic of products manufactured by manufacturers, known for their complex production process and the quality of the material.

At the same time, many market participants expect an increase in the supply of blown HDPE in the European market due to the appearance of new capacities.

According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, in Russia last week was calm in the HDPE market, preventive downtimes did not have a serious impact on the market in the first half of October. And already next week the resumption of the production of HDPE is expected after prevention from Kazanorgsintez. Partially a serious deficit in the market during preventive repairs was avoided due to a serious increase in imports.
