Poly-America warehouses are on fire in Texas. It is one of the largest polyethylene producers in the world.
Firefighters extinguished a large-scale fire in the industrial area of Grande Prairie early Wednesday, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The city’s fire department confirmed that the fire occurred in the 2020 quarter on West Marshall Drive, just off the Bush Freeway. The exact location is unknown, – the newspaper reports.
The video from the scene showed a huge cloud of black smoke rising into the night sky. The flames could be seen near the power transmission towers.
There was no further information about the fire.
The region’s businesses include Poly-America, a company that makes garbage bags and other plastic products and claims to be “the most technologically advanced and largest polyethylene processor and compounder in the world.”
