Dow Chemical will stop the styrene plant in Thailand on the prevention

The company plans to conduct preventive maintenance on the plant with a capacity of 175 thousand tons of styrene per year in the first quarter of 2016. It is expected that maintenance at the plant of SCG-Dow Chemical Thailand will last for one month.

Dow Chemical, is an American diversified chemical company with headquarters in Midland, Michigan. Is a major manufacturer of polymer products, including polystyrene, polyurethane, polyethylene, polypropylene and synthetic rubbers. The company produces more than five thousand kinds of products at 188 sites in 37 countries. In 1987, Dow has signed its first agreement with Thailand’s SCG, one of the most famous industrial conglomerates in Thailand, the joint venture – SCG-DOW Group. In 1993, the SP moved their production facilities in the industrial zone of Map TA Ft, built new factories for the production of styrene-butadiene latex and polyurethane.
