In the Lviv city council decided to restore the land, which used to be located in the infamous dump in Bolshie Gribovichi.

The authorities of Lviv decided to announce a tender for carrying out urgent measures to prevent emergencies and liquidate the negative consequences of the accident at the Lvov landfill in the village of Bolshie Gribovichi. This was reported by the press service of the Lviv City Council.
Recall that solid waste in the village of Bolshie Gribovichi, where garbage from Lviv was collected, became notorious after the fire in May 2016 occurred on the site. One person died in the fire, after which the dump was closed and garbage was taken to other landfills. True, the decision was unsuccessful, because the whole of Lviv in a few weeks almost drowned in garbage.

Fortunately, the “garbage collapse” was allowed, and also promised to build a garbage recycling plant. But the Gribovichsky test site remained closed. Now the local authorities decided to clean it and re-cultivate the land. In addition, according to the deputy mayor of Lviv on housing and communal services, Sergei Babak noted that a landslide occurred on the landfill and now the filtrates periodically flow.

“In the part where there was a landslide, the filtrates continue to flow. There is also a potential danger that there may be some movement or displacement of the test site. Therefore, another dam will be built there and bypass channels will be made. This is to divert incoming rainwater and filtrate and that they do not go beyond the dam. A shaft will also be constructed so that in the event of a displacement of a test site or some kind of its movements in that part, this dam and the shaft will provide the content of a possible slope shift. Therefore, these measures – the construction of a dam and a shaft, – to protect the possibility of a flow of filtrate and displacement, “- said Babak.

The tender for the works has already been announced on the Prozorro electronic procurement site, and the auctions will be held on April 23.

“After determining the winner and signing the agreement immediately plan to start work. The customer of the works is LKP Zbiranka. The works will be held for the budgetary funds of Lviv, “Babak said.
