Devaluation of the national currency is the main reason for rise in price of polymers, according to a price review ICIS-MRC.<\/p>\n<p>Since early January, the Ukrainian market of polyethylene and polypropylene began a rapid decline in prices. Reduction in polyolefins was due to excellent temporary import duty of 5% and a decrease in prices in foreign markets. In February, there was a further decline in the prices of polyethylene and polypropylene in the external markets, but the weakening of the national currency against the US dollar offsetting this factor, and vice versa, has led to an increase in polymer prices at the end of last week.<\/p>\n<p>January 2016 began with the fall of the hryvnia against the dollar below 24, but the second half of the devaluation of the Ukrainian currency has accelerated.
