\"\"After 5 years, Ukraine plans to recover 50% of packaging waste. The Ministry of Regional Development published the bill \u201cOn packaging and packaging waste\u201d and announced its public discussion. This was reported on the official portal of the Ministry of Regional Development.<\/p>\n

The Ministry justifies the bill by the need to introduce systems in Ukraine for the rational use of household waste and waste recycling, as well as the organization of an effective and sustainable packaging waste management system.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe absence of such a culture leads to the loss of millions of tons of resource-valuable materials that can be returned to economic circulation and serve as raw materials for the development of new products,\u201d the Ministry of Regional Development explains.<\/p>\n

The new bill proposes the introduction of a packaging waste management system that:<\/p>\n

– in five years it will be able to recover 50% of packaging waste;<\/p>\n

– expand the responsibility of manufacturers of packaging and goods in packaging;<\/p>\n

– cover the entire territory of Ukraine with a separate waste collection system;<\/p>\n

– introduce responsibility for failure to meet the minimum targets for the collection, processing and preparation for reuse of packaging waste;<\/p>\n

– Allows you to put into circulation only those packages that are made in accordance with the requirements of the Technical Regulation of the restriction of the use of certain toxic or dangerous packaging materials and components.<\/p>\n
