Adidas, Chanel, Prada, H&M – world fashion brands have signed a document to reduce the use of plastic
\nMore than 30 world brands during the G7 summit signed an environmental agreement aimed at reducing the amount of plastic used, according to Eco warrior princess.<\/p>\n
Among the signatories of the so-called Fashion Pact are Adidas, Chanel, Burberry, Herm\u00e8s, Nike, Puma, Prada, Capri Holdings (Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo and Versace), H&M, Gap Inc., large retailers – Galeries Lafayette, Matchesfashion, Nordstrom and Selfridges Group and many others.<\/p>\n
Before the summit, French President Emmanuel Macron instructed the leadership of the Kering group (owns the brands Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and others) to assemble a coalition of the world’s leading fashion companies to sign the pact.<\/p>\n
The three main areas outlined in it are the fight against climate change, the problem of pollution of the oceans and the maintenance of biological diversity.<\/p>\n
The document has no legal force, but the signatories promised to pursue the goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions until 2050 and switch to renewable energy until 2030.<\/p>\n
In the next ten years, companies will also abandon disposable plastic items in stores and retail. Another area is the rejection of materials that contribute to the penetration of microplastics into the oceans.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
