\"\"Prices for propylene in Northeast Asia fell to their lowest level this year after five consecutive weeks of recession, according to ICIS, citing market participants.<\/p>\n

According to ICIS, for the week ending November 16, the average price of propylene was at USD950 per tonne, CFR NE Asia (northeast Asia), which is USD100 per tonne less than a week week.<\/p>\n

One of the reasons for the fall in propylene prices was the decline in domestic prices in China. Chinese domestic prices are falling in the market. In China, domestic propylene prices in Shandong have declined on average to CNY8,055 per ton.<\/p>\n

Also, the decline in quotations of international futures for oil and Chinese futures for polypropylene (PP) led to a decrease in prices for propylene.<\/p>\n

In addition, a high level of propylene reserves in Asia is accumulated due to a decrease in activity in the market, in particular in the acrylonitrile sector (ACN). According to ICIS, AKC prices dropped on average USD200 per ton last week to USD1 650 per ton, CFR NE Asia.<\/p>\n

Propylene producers offer excessive amounts of propylene in the spot market, which also contributes to lower prices.<\/p>\n

Propylene is a raw material for the production of polypropylene (PP).<\/p>\n

According to the ICIS-MRC Price Review, there is still a lack of supply on the Russian market for PP-homo due to problems at the SIBUR Tobolsk and Ufaorgsintez facilities. The greatest lack of the offer is noted in a segment of molding PP-homo.
