\"\"Last week, Ukraine withdrew licensing deals with Sabic Sales Europe B.V., the European “daughter” of the Saudi polymer manufacturer Sabic, according to the website of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine from September 8 introduced mandatory licensing of transactions with a number of foreign companies, including Sabic Sales Europe B.V.<\/p>\n

According to market sources, the interim ban complicated the procedure for purchasing polypropylene (PP) of a Middle Eastern producer in the country, but did not result in a tangible reduction.<\/p>\n

According to MRC, Sabic’s share in the Ukrainian polymer market is quite large. In particular, during the eight months of this year, the share of polypropylene in the total volume of consumption was about 16%, in the segment of linear polyethylene about 43%, in the segment of low-pressure polyethylene pipe – 52%.<\/p>\n

Ukraine in June 2017 also suspended sanctions against the Austrian Borealis, introduced in April, until September 2017. Decree number 547 on the limitation of the supply of the company’s products was signed on April 11, 2017.<\/p>\n
