Kyivspetstrans is ready to build a garbage processing plant to meet the needs of Kiev and save the capital from a garbage collapse due to the closure of the 5th landfill.

That is why the capacity of the new processing plant should be at least 400,000 tons of garbage a year. my appeal and decided to send a letter to the KSCA proposing the need to develop a project for the construction of a garbage processing plant with a minimum capacity of at least 400 thousand tons per year, “Grushinsky said.<\/p>\n
Recall, October 1, 2018 in accordance with the decision of the city council, the 5th polygon in Pidhirtsi should be closed and mothballed. The landfill in Pidhirtsi, where most of the garbage from Kiev is taken, has already been overfilled for several years, and the height of the garbage dump reaches the height of a 30-storey building. The problem polygon is twice as large as the Lvov Griboviches, and the capital can also have much more serious problems.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Kiev environmentalist Vladimir Boreyko said that if there is political will such a plant can be put into operation in a few years. Until then, Kiev will have to agree on receiving waste with other landfills in the area (in the White Church or in Borispol).<\/p>\n
