However, Ukrainian deputies have chosen only one of the options for handling waste, declared in the National Strategy. It’s about granting a preferential, green tariff for waste energy, Kosourov said.<\/p>\n
“In other words, the deputies want to stimulate the 4 links of the hierarchy! Why such a strange choice? Why such attempts to amend the legislation before the reform package of the waste management area, which is being prepared by a number of ministries with the support of European institutions? The only logical explanation is the high level of monetization of the energy sector. At the same time, the waste management industry suffers from a significant deficit of such monetization, so the green tariff on the 4th level of the hierarchy is not directed at all at all the issue of waste in Ukraine.This is pure water lobbying business and also in the short term.So system issues are not solved, “- he said.<\/p>\n
Also, before recycling waste for secondary raw materials, it is necessary to stimulate Ukrainians to separate garbage collection, adds Kosourov.<\/p>\n
