“About 300-400 thousand tons we import waste paper from the outside.This is not because there is no waste paper in Ukraine, but to balance the price so that it does not grow quickly up … A large amount of Ukrainian waste paper is dying in landfills,” he noted.<\/p>\n

Kosciuszko explained that the incompetence of our garbage in comparison with the European one lies in the fact that the EU has a system of extended liability for handling containers and packaging, that is, the so-called green points.<\/p>\n

“In Ukraine, such a system does not work, and our secondary raw materials are not sorted, and secondly, we are killed by taxes.” For example, when we sell cullet or polyethylene sorted from a garbage can, we must immediately pay 20% VAT on the first sale, he added.<\/p>\n
