Overall, in January – June of 2015, the total volume of foreign supplies of polymers of propylene to the local market decreased to 42.4 thousand tons compared to 51 thousand tons a year earlier. The largest drop of supplies I had on PP-block from a full stop several processing plants in the East.

Supply structure by types of polypropylene during the period under review are as follows.

In June of external supplies PP-Homo on the Ukrainian market increased to 5.4 thousand tons compared to 4.9 thousand tons a month earlier due to the growth in the supply of raffia from Europe and Russia. Thus, in the first six months of current year imports of PP-Homo decreased by 17% compared to the same indicator of 2014 year and amounted to about 33 thousand tons.

June indicator external supply block copolymers of propylene increased to 900 tons compared to 510 tons in may due to the increase of demand in the sector of molding. During the review period, imports of PP block in Ukraine decreased to 4.1 thousand tons compared to 5.8 thousand tons a year earlier. The greatest drop in demand was in the casting sector due to stop some processors in the East.

Last month, imports of PP random in Ukraine amounted to just over 500 tons compared to 300 tons in may, increased purchases of local manufacturers of injection molding and biaxially-oriented polypropylene films (BOPP-films). Following the results of January – June 2015, the total volume of foreign supplies of this kind of copolymers of propylene amounted to 4 thousand tons compared to 4.1 thousand tons a year earlier. The demand for stat-propylene copolymers decreased in all sectors of consumption, the only exception was the local manufacturers injection molding.

Total other supplies of propylene copolymers in the period under review amounted to 1.3 tonnes from 1.6 tonnes a year earlier.

In June recorded a small increase of PP imports to Ukraine due to the growth in the demand for propylene homopolymers (PP-Homo) and stat-propylene copolymers (PP-random), and the total value of exports reached a level of 7.2 thousand tons, compared to 5.9 thousand tons in may.
