\"\"Stavrolen, a major producer of polyolefins in the Russian Federation, stopped the production of low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE) for long-term prevention, the ICIS-MRC Price Report said, citing a message from the company’s customers.<\/p>\n

Stavrolen on Saturday, September 16, stopped the work of capacity for the production of HDPE for the planned long-term maintenance. As the company’s customers reported, preventive downtime is planned for two months. Also in the course of prevention, part of the enterprise’s facilities will be modernized.<\/p>\n

It should also be noted that at the beginning of last week the largest Russian producer of HDPE, Kazanorgsintez, stopped one of the three reactors for preventive maintenance. The full stop of production is scheduled for September 25th.<\/p>\n

Stavrolen (part of Lukoil’s structure) is Russia’s second-largest low-pressure polyethylene producer (PND) after Kazanorgsintez and fifth in terms of polypropylene production. Stavrolen’s capacity for the production of HDPE is 300 thousand tons.
