\"\"The Turkish polymer producer Petkim, whose controlling shareholder is Azerbaijan’s SOCAR, announced this week on higher prices for high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE), low-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP), an ICIS source in the company said.<\/p>\n

Thus, the company’s PP prices increased by USD15 per ton, LDP prices – by USD10 per tonne and quotes of HDPE (injection molding and blown stamps) by USD20 per ton.<\/p>\n

The source of the company said that the increased demand is the main reason for the increase in prices.<\/p>\n

The sharp increase in demand was due to higher prices in Asia.<\/p>\n

Now the prices of Petkim LDPE are at the level of USD1,550 per tonne, FCA Aliaga, for G03 \/ 5, whereas the prices for the LDPE-T grade are USD1 523-1 555 per ton, FCA Aliaga.<\/p>\n

According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, a multidirectional price trend remains in the Russian polyethylene (PE) market. LDP continues to fall in price under the pressure of low demand and excess supply, while in the PND market ahead of preventive repairs there is an increase in demand and prices. In the Russian PP market, in July, PP-homo prices continued to fall, and many market participants hope for a reduction in the price of polypropylene in August. In the copolymer market, on the contrary, a limited supply helped to keep the June price level, and for some positions even to achieve higher PP prices.<\/p>\n
