\"\"<\/a>Georgia has drafted a bill that restricts the production, import and sale of plastic packaging. Its purpose is to reduce and then completely prohibit their use on the territory of the country. This was reported by the “News-Georgia” portal.<\/p>\n

“The normative act provides for the phased ban of plastic bags and their replacement with biodegradable bags, paper bags, reusable bags and bags that comply with European standards,” the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia said in a statement.<\/p>\n

As a result, in the first six months after the introduction of the collection, demand for plastic bags in supermarkets in England fell by 85% – from 7 billion to 500 million pieces.<\/p>\n

In 2016, the ban on the production of plastic bags was introduced by the American state of California: the decision was made after a referendum, where the majority voted for it.<\/p>\n
