\"IMG_5726\"<\/a>European market players polystyrene (PS) agreed on some initial December contract prices by an average of EUR160 per tonne higher than in the previous month, while price negotiations are continuing, sources told ICIS market.<\/p>\n

So, in December, the prices are in the range of EUR1 430-1 490 per ton for GPPS (MSS \/ M).<\/p>\n

Because of public holidays in some regions last week, some market participants said they are waiting for a clearer picture of the current week prices.<\/p>\n

Manufacturers have been set quite firmly to transfer the amount of increase in prices of styrene on the PC, while the buyers resisted this, saying that the quotes PS after such growth will be totally unacceptable in comparison with other polymers prices.<\/p>\n

Demand for material is very low, and some consumers, in general, have decided not to make any purchases in December.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, some of the producers stated that in January styrene quotations may grow even more, and if that happens, then buyers will realize that it would be better to make purchases in December.<\/p>\n

It was noted earlier that the December price of styrene monomer in Europe were agreed at the level of EUR1 195 per tonne, which is EUR170 per tonne higher than the previous month.
