The spot prices of linear polyethylene (LLDPE) in Europe show a downward trend amid record high imports to the market in January this year, which is the highest mark for many months, ICIS reported citing data from the statistical agency Eurostat.

So, at the end of February and March, spot prices for the C4 LDL fell sharply, as sellers began to struggle for their market share.

In this regard, as noted earlier, the LDL market in March is under pressure, which resulted in very low spot prices – in many cases lower than the contract price of ethylene.

According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, demand for LDL-C4 in the Russian market was very low last week, some processors still have stocks from February purchases.
