The total volume of production of low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE) declined in the Ukrainian market for the first seven months of this year by 12% compared with the same period a year earlier and amounted to 50.8 thousand tons, according to the ICIS-MRC Price Review.
In July, the release of HDPE in Ukraine showed an increase of 9.3% compared with the previous month and amounted to 9.4 thousand tons. In June, this figure was at around 8.6 thousand tons.
Meanwhile, Karpatneftekhim (Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region), the largest petrochemical plant in Ukraine, reduced capacity utilization by 20% in August compared with July, and the same level of loading is planned for September.
As previously reported, Karpatneftekhim announced a reduction in the price of HDPE for deliveries to the domestic market in September by USD48 per tonne compared with the level of August.
