Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) production in China declined by 2.6% in June this year compared with the same indicator a month earlier, ICIS reported.

Thus, the June issue of material in the country amounted to 291 thousand tons during the reporting period against 299 thousand tons in May of this year.

Earlier it was noted that in May, the production of ABS in China increased by 8.8% compared to April. Then the increase in this indicator was due to a smaller number of production stops as compared with the previous month. In particular, only Zhenjiang ChiMei Chemical company closed five of its lines for scheduled repairs in May.

According to the ICIS-MRC Price Review, in June, ABS imports to Russia amounted to 2.7 thousand tons against 2.41 thousand tons a month earlier and 2.45 thousand tons in June last year. In January-June, imports of ABS in Russia increased by 5% compared to the same period last year: from 14.72 thousand tons to 15.48 thousand tons. The share of South Korean shipments was 55% (8.52 thousand tons) against 64% (9.45 thousand tons) in the first half of last year.
