According to the results of January-June this year, the release of low-density polyethylene (HDPE) in Russia amounted to about 491.4 thousand tons, which is 2% less than the same indicator in 2017. Only two manufacturers showed an increase in production volumes, according to a report by ScanPlast company MRC. In June, the total volume of production of low-density polyethylene in Russia fell to 79 thousand tons, while a month ago this figure hardly exceeded the level of 86.8 thousand tons. Decrease in production volumes was noted by all producers, excepting Gazprom Neftihim Salavat. In general, following the results of the first six months of the year, the total output of the HDPE reached the level of 491,4 thousand tons against 500,4 thousand tons a year earlier, the production volumes of two Tatar producers – Kazanorgsintez and Nizhnekamskneftekhim in favor of linear polyethylene (LDL) – reduced.

The structure of polyethylene production in the context of enterprises for the period under review is as follows.

In June, the total volume of production of HDPE on the capacities of Kazanorgsintez decreased to 44.6 thousand tons against 48.4 thousand tons a month earlier. In general, following the results of January-June of this year, the total volume of output of HDPE at the Kazan enterprise reached 262.2 thousand tons, which is 3% less than in 2017.

Stavrolen last month earned about 23.4 thousand tons against 25.6 thousand tons in May. During the period under review, the total production index reached 151.1 thousand tons, which is 6% more than the same indicator in 2017.

For the first half of this year, the total volume of production of low-pressure polyethylene at the Bashkir enterprise reached 60.4 thousand tons, which is 17% higher than the same indicator in 2017.

During the period under review, Nizhnekamskneftekhim only produced low-pressure polyethylene in April and May. Thus, in less than two months of operation the Nizhnekamsk producer produced only 17.7 thousand tons of HDPE versus 37.1 thousand tons a year earlier.
