The production and use of carbon composite materials has become the new, the sixth in a row, technological wave in the world economy. Those who “tamed” this wave, become leaders in many areas of industrial production, take the development of the economy to a higher level

New polymer composite materials (PCM) are produced from a plastic base reinforced with fillers. They have unique properties, which is especially important for the service of various products in “uneasy” conditions. Items and parts from PCM are not afraid of moisture, they do not absorb it, and are not subject to corrosion in a humid atmosphere. As a continuation of this dignity – there are no putrefaction and fungal lesions. Not afraid of them and sudden temperature changes. Constructions of composite materials do not support burning, hence, are fireproof. They are shockproof, withstand heavy loads, they are difficult to spoil mechanically. Products do not crumble, do not burn out, do not require additional painting. Having such properties, polymeric composite materials and products from them displace in old branches, especially in construction, old traditional materials – wood, metal, concrete. These materials have already exhausted themselves, do not cope with increased loads in structures and mechanisms. But the use of them continues, because they are cheaper than new materials.

In addition, the production and use of new materials is possible with a higher level of industrial development, this is the future of the economy. New materials and technologies are used in the automotive industry, in construction (up to 17% in the leading countries), in the construction of bridges and pipelines, in aircraft and shipbuilding, and in aerospace complexes. Surprisingly, in the USSR, research and development work in this field began in the 50s of the last century. In the 80s, the country was one of the leading in the world to study and apply the latest technology. And today Russia is practically not represented in the world rating, it occupies less than 1% in this segment of the market. Strange, but the country lacks raw materials for the production of new materials, it is cheaper to buy abroad, in particular, in China. Fillers are also imported. New technologies and materials require other experience and knowledge from engineering personnel, from workers and builders. Therefore, we need a different level of training and qualification.
